Global Impact Movement Receives Grant to Scale Kindness Through Technology
WILLIAMSTOWN, MASSACHUSETTS (JUNE 6 2023) – Lasagna Love is proud to announce the award of an Azure nonprofit grant from Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT). This grant from Microsoft helps further Lasagna Love’s core mission to feed families, spread kindness and strengthen communities.
The Azure grant allows Lasagna Love to use Microsoft’s scalable, reliable cloud hosting technologies in Project Ricotta, Lasagna Love’s open-source software (OSS) project to build a world-class platform to scale kindness. Lasagna Love invites volunteers, especially those who have not contributed to an open-source software project, to participate in building this next generation volunteer opportunity enablement platform. “We have experienced unparalleled growth since inception, driven by our collaborative approach and distributed organization” shared Rhiannon Menn, founder of Lasagna Love. “We are honored that Microsoft recognizes the trailblazing work we are doing with Project Ricotta, and elected to offer their support.”
Project Ricotta aims to transform the volunteer and recipient experiences through a revolutionary open-source software volunteer initiative building a next generation mission enablement platform. Erynn Petersen, board member and Project Ricotta lead, says “We’re excited to apply this grant to Project Ricotta. Using this grant we’ll be able to scale up our ability to match our volunteer lasagna chefs to recipients and leverage the power of data to make the most efficient use of our volunteer resources.”
