Lasagna Was Never the Point.

Honestly, I don’t blame you. The name kind of gives it away. Lasagna Love.It sounds like this is going to be a story about pasta, cheese, and maybe a really good family recipe. And don’t get me wrong, I could happily spend an afternoon talking about the merits of ricotta versus cottage cheese. (Trust me… I’ve heard some passionate opinions over the years.) But after watching this movement grow from a simple act of kindness into something that has connected hundreds of thousands of neighbors, I’ve realized something. Lasagna was never really the point.
What I’ve been lucky enough to witness over the last several years has changed the way I see people. I’ve watched strangers become trusted friends.I’ve watched children proudly carry a homemade meal to a neighbor’s front door, learning generosity without anyone ever calling it a lesson. I’ve watched volunteers discover that they needed the experience every bit as much as the family receiving dinner. And I’ve watched communities quietly stitch themselves back together, one meal, one conversation, one act of kindness at a time.
Those aren’t things you can easily measure in a spreadsheet.Trust me… I’ve tried just about everything to try. Some of the most meaningful things I’ve witnessed simply refuse to fit inside a dashboard. And honestly, I’m okay with that.
So that’s what this space is for. Not updates. Not announcements. Not leadership advice disguised as a blog. Just observations. Questions I’ve been carrying around.
Just Little moments that made me stop and think. The surprising ways ordinary people change one another when someone simply makes it a little easier to say yes.
If you’ve ever wondered why a homemade lasagna can mean so much… Why asking for help is often harder than offering it… Why kindness has a way of finding its way back to us… Or why I still believe, despite everything happening in our world, that people are inherently good……I think you’ll feel at home here. I’ll also share guest posts, incredible stories from others, and share love felt across our organization.
Fair warning, though. I have a habit of asking one more question than most people. Sometimes I follow the advice. Sometimes I have to find out for myself. Stubborn? Maybe. Curious? Definitely. So every now and then, you might find me chasing a thought that starts with lasagna and somehow ends up somewhere completely unexpected. Those are usually my favorite conversations. You won’t find my life story here. At least not all at once. Life has a funny way of revealing itself through little moments anyway. A habit you never outgrow. A memory that sneaks in while you’re unloading groceries. A lesson that didn’t make sense until years later. I suspect that’s how we’ll get to know each other. One story at a time. One question at a time. One layer at a time.
I’m really glad you’re here! Pull up a chair. Let’s peel back a few layers together.
