Every week, thousands of volunteers across the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom choose to shop, cook, bake, and deliver a homemade meal to someone they may have never met. Every request is unique. Every volunteer has different availability, travel preferences, and schedules. Bringing those neighbors together quickly, thoughtfully, and securely takes more than good intentions. It takes the right tools.

That’s where Project Amore comes in.

Amore is the volunteer and matching platform that quietly powers Lasagna Love behind the scenes. While most people will never log into it, every family who receives a homemade meal benefits from it. Every volunteer who spends less time navigating technology and more time connecting with their community benefits from it. Every improvement we make behind the scenes means more time spent connecting neighbors instead of managing systems. It means volunteers have a better experience, families can be matched more efficiently, and our team can focus on growing kindness instead of wrestling with technology.

Like so many good things at Lasagna Love, the story of Amore began with a volunteer. Matt, one of our incredible Lasagna Chefs, also works at Naico Technologies. As our movement continued to grow, he recognized what many of us were feeling. Our original platform had served us well, but it wasn’t built for the scale we were becoming. Instead of simply pointing out the problem, he asked a simple question: “What if we built something better?”

That conversation sparked a remarkable partnership. Together with the talented team at Naico Technologies, Lasagna Love spent nearly two years designing, building, and refining what would become the largest technology investment in our organization’s history. Every feature was created with one goal in mind: helping volunteers spend less time managing technology and more time sharing kindness.

Today, Amore is so much more than a website. It’s the infrastructure that helps connect neighbors with neighbors. It supports our volunteer community, protects sensitive information, streamlines matching, improves reporting, and gives our team the tools to grow responsibly as demand continues to increase. Built on Amazon Web Services (AWS), Amore provides the security, reliability, and scalability needed to support a global volunteer movement while creating a strong foundation for future innovation.

When everything works the way it should, no one notices the technology. They notice the volunteer who arrived with a homemade lasagna. They notice the kindness. That’s exactly how we want it. That’s exactly how we want it. Because the real story isn’t about software. It’s about making sure a parent navigating an overwhelming season doesn’t wait any longer than necessary for a warm meal, making it easier for a volunteer to say “yes”, and reducing barriers so that kindness can move more freely between neighbors. Every improvement we make behind the scenes helps us strengthen what happens at the front door.

Amore also represents something bigger than technology. It reflects what’s possible when volunteers, nonprofit leaders, and mission-driven businesses come together to solve problems with generosity and creativity. The partnership with Naico wasn’t simply about building software. It was about building something that would allow kindness to reach more people for many years to come. As Lasagna Love continues to grow, Amore grows with us. It gives us better insights, stronger reporting, more efficient matching, and the flexibility to continue expanding our reach without losing the heart that has always defined this movement. Because at the end of the day, Amore isn’t really about technology. It’s about removing barriers between two neighbors. One who wants to help. One who could use a little kindness.
